What You're Looking At

This dashboard streams a live amateur-radio station straight from the bench. Here's every panel on the public page, top to bottom, and what each one shows.

Always on screen

📡

Station headerPINNED

Callsign and station tagline, a live UTC clock, and status pills — LINKED (the home agent is connected), ON AIR / OFFLINE (whether the rig is live), and PORTABLE when operating from the field. It stays pinned to the top as you scroll.

🛰️

Ticker

The scrolling status line under the header — station identity and mode at a glance.

🏷️

Station identity

The hero block: callsign, motto, and the station facts — location, grid, rig, power, and total QSOs logged.

🏆

Records ribbon

All-time milestones pulled live from the logbook: total QSOs, years on air, countries (DXCC), US states, grid squares, farthest DX, busiest day, and longest daily streak.

The live station

📻

Live RadioSECTION 00

The rig in real time — frequency, band, mode, transmit/receive state, and the control source. When the rig reports them, live power, SWR and S-meter meters appear too. Voice or digital, it moves the instant the dial does.

📶

Signal · S-meter

An analog-style S-meter gauge. On digital it tracks the strength of the latest decode; with rig control it shows the real hardware meter.

🔊

Listen Live audio

A one-click stream of the station's audio — live received signals, and on SSB voice the operator's own transmit comes through too, so you hear both sides of the QSO as it happens.

🌊

SDR band scope

A live spectrum + waterfall panadapter from an SDR that follows the radio's frequency — shown when the SDR feed is running.

📈

Live DecodesSECTION 01

The digital waterfall feed — every signal WSJT-X decodes the moment it lands (time, SNR, frequency offset, message), with CQ calls highlighted. Digital only; it pauses on voice.

The logbook, visualized

🏁

Live Run

Appears automatically during an active run of contacts. Shows your rate in Q/hr (last 10 min), the session tally, contacts in the last 60 minutes, your best rolling hour, and a per-band split. Hides itself when you stop.

📖

LogbookSECTION 03

Log totals — QSOs, unique calls, countries, bands, modes, best DX — and a live table of the most recent contacts, updating the instant a QSO is saved.

🗺️

World Reach mapSECTION 06

Every grid the station has ever worked, glowing across a world map, with the newest QSOs arcing out live from Tampa Bay — plus the grey line (the day/night terminator) drawn where it falls right now.

🥇

Award ProgressSECTION 07

Worked All States on a US map that lights up as states are worked, plus DXCC entities, Maidenhead grids, and 5-band WAS — all tallied live from the log.

📊

ActivitySECTION 08

The station's rhythm: a contribution-style calendar heatmap of the last year, plus by-hour and by-year histograms and band/mode breakdowns.

The world around it

☀️

PropagationSECTION 02

Live space weather from HamQSL — solar flux, K-index, sunspots, solar wind, and a band-by-band day/night conditions forecast.

🌲

Field Ops · POTASECTION 04

Live Parks-On-The-Air spots — activators on the air worldwide, right now.

🛰️

Space TrackersSECTION 05

Live position of the ISS, its range from the station's grid, altitude and speed.

🌐

PSKReporter mapSECTION 09

Where the station is being heard right now — live reception reports of signals it's transmitted, worldwide.

Moments & modes

New-contact flash

A little celebration pops up the instant a new QSO hits the log — call, band and mode.

🎒

Portable / POTA mode

When the operator activates from the field, the dashboard detects it automatically and flips into portable mode — the header relabels and a PORTABLE badge lights up.

⚙️ Under the hood

It's all driven by one self-hosted Python engine at the shack that reads the live rig (WSJT-X / Flrig) and the QRZ logbook in real time, then streams it to the cloud. No third-party dashboards — what you see is exactly what's happening at the bench.
